Mid-Week Prayer, September 23

A reflection:

"I lift my eyes to the hills.  From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.  He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.  Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."               - Psalm 121:1-4

This week's requests:
- Pray for our Children;s Ministry Team, and Katie, our Director of Children's Ministry.  This team provides quality nursery and children's church ministry at Redeemer (ministry to the whole person with upreach, outreach, and inreach being held together).
- Pray for our Youth Ministry Team, and Adam, our Ministry Intern.  This team seeks to create a highly relational ministry program geared to "big borthering" and "big sistering" of teenagers in redeemer and in our neighborhoods in order to contextualize the Christian faith to young people while they grow and develop through the exciting yet challenging years of adolescence.
- Pray for our Wednesday nights this fall - New Home, Old Mission.  Pray for all of our preparations, physical and spiritual, for moving into our new building.

Mid-Week Prayer, September 2

"Blessed be the LORD! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy.  The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.  The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed.  Oh, save your people and bless your heritage!  Be their shepherd and carry them forever."                      - Psalm 28:6-9

This week's requests:

  • Pray that the Church, around the world and here in Memphis, would embrace the hospitality of God in making us his children, and then turn and offer hospitality to the world around us.
  • Pray that the love and welcome of Jesus would capture your heart and make you more like him.
  • Since our Savior is a welcoming Savior, pray that those who visit Redeemer will feel his welcoming love in our midst.  Pray that not one visitor would go unwelcomed at our service.  Pray that God would use you to welcome visitors.

Mid-Week Prayer, March 4

A reflection:

"Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.  For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.  Let your steadfast love, O LORD, be upon us, even as we hope in you."                                          - Psalm 33:20-22

This week's requests:

- Pray that you would continually return to the Father and that you would see the magnitude of his love for you.
- Pray for God's guidance and provision in your life.

Mid-Week Prayer, January 28

"Almighty God, who has promised to hear the petitions of those who ask in your Son's Name:  I beseech you mercifully to incline your ear to me who have made my prayers and supplications to you; and grant that those things which I have faithfully asked according to your will, I may effectually obtain, to the relief of my necessity, and to the setting forth of your glory; through Jesus Christ my Lord.  Amen."
