READY? UH... NOT
Technical Difficulties
I feel like Drew Barrymore:
Things have definitely not been going according to plan... hmm maybe one had overestimated how easy the plan of an Audio Daily Prayer Group Might be? Hopefully God will be using it all to do something in and through us. That is the hope.
Anyway, here's what's happening starting this morning
Redeemer is hosting an Audio Morning Hours Prayer Blog. It will be live on the days that one of our families, Austin, Megan and Annie Dalgo, is going to Kenya.
If you read back through the old post (there are some fun You-tube posts to entice you) it will give you the history of what this is all about. I hate to repeat the indepth version again but the idea is that we are going to facilitate an Audio Prayer Group via this blog and post to Facebook and Twitter with a little Instagram sprinkled in. It's a work in progress and to say I NEED HELP would be an understatement. Hopefully, this blog will get us all to start try praying regularly in a format the church has used for centuries called the Morning Office.
How you can help:
- 30 Readers - men, women, boys and girls (really think our children will love doing this)
- You will get the daily reading once you have signed up. Not longer than 5 minutes usually.
- Read the Morning Office that will be sent to you after signing up. into an audio recorder via smartphone ap SuperNotes is free on IPhone
- Unless you ask to be removed you will be getting this post every day from prayer@redeemermemphis.org
- Participate, Pray & Post (3 Ps)
PLEASE EMAIL www.prayer@redeemermemphis.org to sign up or be unsubscribed from these posts.
Megan is starting us off today while they are on a plane to Kenya. The hope is that this can provide an avenue for us to cover them in prayer and also to cultivate a new habit for many of us.

So very grateful to the author of this series in granting permission to use
The Divine Hours for this purpose:
Dear Pastor Lancaster,Website of Phyllis Tickle, author
I can not imagine any letter that could please me more than does this one from you. Thank you for writing it and for sharing with me news about your work at Redeemer and, of course, most especially about your interest in establishing a daily observance of the morning office. Please do feel free to adapt and employ any part of the material as your needs there may suggest or require. There is no fee or charge for such use on the part of a church body, only great delight on my part upon learning of it.
If you have time at some point down the road, I would be most interested in hearing of your progress in this part of your ministry. In any event, however, may every blessing attend you and the good folk at Redeemer in this and all your efforts.
Cordially,
Phyllis Tickle
The Dalgo's will be updating through one of these 20 technologies so we can know how they are doing and how to pray for them. We also want to provide an avenue for other prayer requests here. So please comment here or via Redeemer Facebook page, Twitter and NEW is RedeemerMemphis on INSTAGRAM
Here's a word from them - the Daily Dalgo:
Daily Dalgo September 5, 2013
-Psalm 103:1-8
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the LORD, O my soul, and
forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your
life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your
youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The LORD works righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses, his acts to the people of Israel. The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
I love this beautiful statement of God’s character and purposes. It was motivating for David: one could
argue that this theology was the driving force of his life (at least in his better moments). Why praise
God? Look at what he’s rescued us from! Iniquity, diseases, the pit. Look what he’s provided for us!
Steadfast love and mercy, good, renewal, righteousness, justice. Look at his character! Revealing
himself to his people, displaying his works, righteous, just, always gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and
abounding in steadfast love. Surely he is worthy of all of our praise, and all of our allegiance!
